"How much is Netflix?" has a different answer in almost every country. Netflix sets local prices, adds plans like Mobile only in some markets, and in many countries bills in US dollars rather than the local currency. That makes the real monthly cost depend on where you live, your bank's exchange rate and local taxes.
The table below lists prices as Netflix shows them on its Plans and Pricing page. US, UK, India, Turkey and Brazil were recorded from Netflix's page on October 17, 2026 by this price tracker; Egypt, Ghana and Bangladesh come from our own checks of the same page. Netflix only shows the price for the country you are browsing from, so always confirm yours on its Plans and Pricing page.

The US prices took effect after Netflix's March 2026 increase, which raised every plan by $1 to $2. Our article on Netflix's 2026 price hike covers what changed. Prices for Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya and the Philippines differ between sources, so we left them out rather than guess; check Netflix's page from your own country.
What Each Plan Includes

- Mobile: one phone or tablet at a time, 480p, no casting to a TV. Offered only in some countries.
- Basic: one device at a time in 720p. Discontinued for new members in the US and UK.
- Standard with ads: the cheapest plan in markets like the US, UK and Brazil, with ads.
- Standard: two devices at a time in 1080p, with the option to add one extra member who lives elsewhere.
- Premium: four devices at a time in 4K with HDR, and up to two extra members. In USD-billed markets each extra member is $2.99 a month.
Why Some Countries Pay in US Dollars
In many countries in Africa and South Asia, Netflix lists its prices in US dollars instead of the local currency. Ghana and Bangladesh both see $2.99 to $9.99. The plan is cheap in dollar terms, but the cost in your currency moves with the exchange rate every month, and many local debit cards are blocked for recurring dollar charges. Some countries add tax on top: Ghana charges a 20% levy on payments with local cards and mobile money, which we cover in our Ghana Netflix guide. Egypt is the opposite case, with prices in Egyptian pounds; see our Egypt Netflix guide.
Can You Pay a Cheaper Country's Price?
No. Netflix charges the price of the country where your account is set up and checks your payment method, and its terms of use don't allow using a VPN to change your location. The "VPN trick" that some sites promote usually fails at checkout, and it can get an account blocked. The reliable way to save is to pick the right plan: Mobile if you only watch on your phone, or Standard with ads where it exists.
Paying for Netflix When Your Local Card Fails
The most common reasons a card is declined are international online payments switched off, a low online limit, or a card that doesn't support recurring charges. Turn those on in your bank app first. Netflix also notes that some virtual cards are only accepted in certain markets, and asks you to try another method if one is declined.
If your bank card keeps failing, a separate card for subscriptions helps. SiraPay is a privacy-first Visa virtual card: you sign up with your email, with no forced KYC, no ID upload and no face scan, and it is accepted at 150M+ merchants. People use SiraPay in 100+ countries. No SiraPay card renews automatically, so keep your plan price on the card before each billing date; for a subscription you keep all year, the Yearly Card lasts longest. No card can guarantee that Netflix approves a payment, and a card doesn't change your country's rules on foreign exchange or tax. Answers to common questions are in our Help Center.
Quick Answers
How much is Netflix a month in 2026?
It depends on your country. In the US, plans run from $8.99 (Standard with ads) to $26.99 (Premium). In countries billed in US dollars, such as Ghana and Bangladesh, plans run from $2.99 (Mobile) to $9.99 (Premium).
Which country has the cheapest Netflix?
Among the countries in our table, India's Mobile plan at ₹149 and the $2.99 Mobile plan in USD-billed markets are the cheapest ways to watch. Netflix charges the price of the country where your account is set up, so you can't pick another country's price.
Can I use a VPN to pay a cheaper country's price?
No. Netflix bills based on the country where you sign up and checks your payment method, and its terms don't allow using a VPN to change your country. Accounts can be blocked.
Does Netflix charge tax on top of the price?
Netflix says you may be charged taxes depending on where you live. Some countries add digital service taxes or bank levies, such as Ghana's 20% levy on local cards and mobile money.
Final Thoughts
The same Premium plan costs $26.99 in the US and $9.99 in Ghana or Bangladesh, but you can only pay your own country's price. Check Netflix's page for your country, choose the plan that fits how you watch, and make sure your card can take a recurring payment before the first bill.
